They are articles.

- a / an (un, uno, una)

• Para nombres contables en singular: She wants to buy a car
• Cuando dices como es algo: It’s a big house
• Cuando dices qué hace alguien: He’s a teacher (El es profesor).

 – The (el, la, los, las)

• Cuando hay una sola cosa de algo: The moon goes round the sun (La luna gira alrededor del sol).
• Cuando te refieres a algo concreto: He opened the door (Él abrió la puerta).
