Shot Marilyns is a series of silkscreen paintings produced in 1964 by Andy Warhol, each canvas measuring 40 inches square, and each a portrait of Marilyn Monroe.

Andy Warhol  was born in Pennsylvania in 1928 and he died in 1987. He was an American visual artist, commercial illustrator, film director and producer. His works explore the relationship between artistic expression, advertising, and celebrity culture, and span a variety of media, including painting, silkscreening, photography, film, and sculpture.

The Scream, 1893 by Edvard Munch

The Scream is a composition created by Edvard Munch in 1893.  Munch recalled that he had been out for a walk at sunset when suddenly the setting sun's light turned the clouds "a blood red". Some scholars believe that Munch was describing a terrifying emotional experience that would today be called a panic attack.

Munch was born in December 12, 1863 into a middle-class family in Norway and he died in 1944. His life was difficult. His mother died when he was five, his eldest sister when he was 14, both of tuberculosis. Munch’s father and brother also died when he was still young, and another sister developed mental illness.
